My dryer door handle broke, a small plastic handle. How do I replace it? I have the downloaded schematic, but it doesn't look like it will be easy. Do I have to take the entire door off and pull the seals to remove the back of the door to insert the handle? Thanks Christy. Need to get my dryer back up and running as soon as part is delivered. Part number is AP2805459

Hi Christy,

What is easy in our live?

Looks like you do have to take the entire door off and take it apart.

Gene.

I did and I can't figure out how to take the pieces apart!!! I took both gaskets off and the filter out. It looks like the plastic pieces are sandwhiched together. How..... do I get them apart? It was no biggy taking the door off the dryer. I called a service company approved by Bosch and they want $157.00 to come and insert my $8.00 plastic door handle. I want to vomit. They said they have a special tool to take the door apart but won't tell me what it is. Does any body know to help save a little money?????? Dryerless Christy In So.CAl.

Oh yeah I can get a picture of it. THe door seems to be completely sealed together tightly. I can wiggle certain areas and it clearly looks to be "clamped" together. I can not find any screws on it except the hex screw to attach it to the dryer base. I really like Bosch, no problems except this (*&^(*&^ door handle. How can I import the picture? I wonder what "tool" the experts have??? Thanks Christy. I really need to get this dryer up and running. I have a 3 and 5 year old and lots of laundry pilling up. Thanks. Christy

Christy: Have you gotten an answer? Mine has done the same thing and I was wondering how to get it apart also. Thanks
