Our Jenn-Air freezer-on-top model makes loud noises that sound like something is knocking inside. Also at least the left side is hot to the touch. The freezer seems alright, but the fridge sometimes freezes things in the drawers, like lunchmeat and cheese and most other things seem almost too cold. It's almost on the lowest setting and it still happens. We're not exactly sure how old it is because it came with the house that we bought last year, but it seems a bit worn in it's appearance, although not terrible.

The first thing I would do is remove the cover on the back of the fridge and clean the condenser coil (#9 on the break down diagram).

Make sure the condenser fan motor (#14 on the break down diagram) is running.

After you do it, wait one or two days and post the results.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Jenn Air refrigerator Model JTB1988AEA
