Dryer heats but doesn't turn..makes slight screeching (rubbing?) noise so I assume it is the belt...without clothes in it it turns a bit..therefore my assumption is based on that...but how do I check that? And is it just tightening of the belt or when do I know when too replace belt if it is that?

It's the question asker...I took it all apart & played with the belt..wasn't that. It was an offset wheel that is located behind the dryer lint trap! The dryer would turn without a load but with a load would not turn..I suggest that others who have this problem try to adjust the drum wheel before they atempt a belt replacement (much easier to adjust wheel). My dryer works great now!
