OK, a couple of says ago, I noticed our icemaker was not producing ice. After "googling" I found this site, and proceeded to go through some of the troubleshooting I found.
Verified the water dispenser on the door worked, it did. Filled the icemaker tray manually, and the unit produced and dumped ice. Checked the fill line to see if it was frozen. It wasnt but I warmed it with a hair dryer anyway, just in case. Again, I noticed, the water was never kicking on. I decided that it was probably the water valve on the back. Decided to pull the fridgeout just to look. While I had the unit out, I noticed how filthy it was behind it, and began to sweep the area. I noticed no crimps or anything. Whadya know, while I was sweeping the water kicked on and filled the maker. I pushed it back in. It did not fill again. This morning I pulled it about half way out, you guessed it, the wife said it filled and dumped all day, which was obvious looking in the tray. I pushed it back in when i got home. Since then I have observed the maker twice....going thru the motions, with no ice becasue there was no water. I've since pulled it back out some to see if it fills again. Any thoughts, ideas? I'm still thinking valve, but don't know.
Thanks in advance,
Scott
