My refrig and freezer aren't getting cold enough all of a sudden. No ice build up and it is cool but not cold. Adjusting the temp didn't help. I'm thinking defrost timer and thermostat but don't want to start throwing parts at it.

Here are the parts Replacement parts for AMANA ARS2663AW Ref - SXS/I&W | AppliancePartsPros.com My refrig and freezer aren't getting cold enough all of a sudden. No ice build up and it is cool but not cold. Adjusting the temp didn't help. Is the compressor running? Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running? If yes, then remove the evaporator coil cover so you can see the coils. If heavily iced/frosted over, you have a defrost problem. If only frosted in one area (usually where the freon enters the coils) or very patchy frost, then you are likely low on freon. If no frost at all then either you are out of freon or the compressor is toast. The last 2 are both fairly expensive repairs as a pro should do the work. Also if low/out of freon there is no use filling it till the leak is found and fixed. |
