Our dryer has been stopping after 20 minutes on the manual timed drying setting. We have cleaned the whole vent system from the dryer to the outside. We thought maybe it was overheating. However, it continues to turn off with about 15 minutes left in the cycle. We hear a ticking noise. It will not turn back on right away. We have to wait a while before it works again. But then it just turns off again in the middle of the cycle. Note: this happened after returning from a vacation. We did notice there was a power outage while we were gone that flipped a circuit breaker. Any ideas???

Hi dsbell

Most likely the problem with your dryer is a bad thermistor, but if your dryer is less then a year old it's still under full manufacturer warranty. In such situation I would recommend do not attempt any repair and call Whirlpool.
