My quiet partner III whirlpool dishwasher would not do anything! I read a few blogs and found information on the thermal fuse. There was no power or any flashing lights. I purchased a new fuse and replaced it and found that after restoring the power to my dishwasher it started. I first had to cut the power to the dishwasher, then remover the control panel by removing the six screws at the top of the dishwasher inside the door to access the cover for the electric control. From the top of the dishwasher I toke the cover off of the electrical control housing to access the fuse which was right in the front of the comuter control. I simply followed the instructions found within the fuse kit, and cut the wire for the old fuse and stripped the end of the old wire that was on the dishwasher and placed them in the new wire harness and screwed them in tightly. There was no need to match the black and black/white wire to either of the yellow/black wires. I replaced the control housing cover and placed the control panel back onto the dishwasher replacing the six screws (be careful not to tighten the screws to tightly as the plastic in which the screws are screwed into on the control panel can crack and break off, easliy beign a hundred dollar replacement for the whole control panel which will have to be replaced, or superglue will do the trick!:) Once this is all done then simply turn on the power and the unit should start if it is in fact only the fuse. I did this first rather than replacing the computer control which is also a one hundred dollar part itself. Well hopefully this can be of some help to the next person and a cheap fix! I do still beleive in whirlpool appliances!!! check out this link it shows detailed info on parts and repairs. http://https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/52521bdbd0ef763c85256cbc00520548/$FILE/8178022.pdf
