I have a Whirlpool Refrigerator that is about 10 years old. I recently had the thermostat replaced which fixed the high temp in the freezer and refrigerator. The icemaker is now making ice but the ice and water in the door smelled a little like mildew. So I put an in-line water filter on. The water on the door now smells like it should but the ice still smells a little like mildew at times. The ice will smell fine for a couple cycles and then start smelling a little like mildew. I don't know if it is related but at times the ice is getting stuck on top of the icemaker. At times the ice will be up like it should to drop into the bucket but will freeze back a little. If you touch the ice it will break loose and begin cycling. Do you think these two problems are related and do you have any idea what could be making the ice smell like mildew? Could it be a bad heater in the icemaker?
