Problem: Washer will not spin or agiatate. PC board comes up with error code, 6 flashes "Locked Rotor". I am able to reset the code and get a standby flash. After resetting it will throw the same code, with out spinning the motor. I am wondering if there is somekind of load unbalance reset or something else that could be preventing the rotor from turning. I can spin all parts by hand freely. Is this motor shot? We had the same problem last year and a tech was able to reset the code and get it working agian. Am I missing something?

Looks like the motor has gone bad and has to be replaced.

You may also want to check the Mode Shifter coil. You can do it at the "C7" connector on the motor inverter board by disconnecting the plug and measure the coil resistance. It suppose to be about 98 Ohms at the room temperature. This part has 10 years limited GE warranty. You will be responsible for any labor or related service costs. If this part is bad, I would recommend to figure out which way is more cost efficient for you: to do it yourself or to have GE do it for you.

- The motor assembly Part number: AP4368119
Part number: AP4368119

- The shaft/tube assembly Part number: AP4390011
Part number: AP4390011

Do not forget to reset the error codes after repairs done. To clear errors, disconnect power until an audible clicking sound is heard when the inverter capacitor discharges (approximately 15 seconds). Open and close the lid 10 times in any 12 second period within the first 30 seconds of power-up.

Gene, thanks you so much for your response. I read a post on here about corroded connectors, so I tried unplugging all connectors on the motor and cleaning them. I then reset it agian. This time rotor turned just fine. I ran it a few times and it has been working since. I am still going to take your suggestion though, because I am afraid that this will happen agian. Thanks again for the suggestion.
