When I put the dryer in specific dryer mode (like perm press etc), the dryer keeps on tumbling without any heat. Since the dryer has sensor not to stop till clothers are really dry, it never stops.
If I put the dryer in manual time mode (e.g. run for 50 mins), it does heat up and dry the clothes.
Any tips or pointers on what may be wrong with it and how to fix it.
Appreciate any help in advance.

I've got the same problem with my machine mdl # DG712. I replaced a part and it worked for three years but can't remember which part. I would greatly appreciate any help!

appreciate any help in advance. i would take the back panel off the control panel, and be sure that there are no burn't wires at the temperature selector switch. if not i would replace it. the part # is 33001229. tom applianceeducator.com - parts
