When I turn on Dishwasher (Bosch Model SHU9915) I can hear a humming sound but no water goes into the dishwasher. I removed the water valve and tested it and it works fine. The humming sound seems like it could be coming from the pump motor????? Is the pump motor just for the drain or could that prevent water from going into the dishwasher??

Any cycle starts with drain for about 15 sec to 20 sec and then it starts to fill.
If it drains nonstop then it could be water in the base (under the tub) or a bad water level switch.
The model number you posted is incomplete.

Gene,
You are correct the model number is SHU9915UC/U12. While I was waiting for your reply I put some water in the tub, turned on the Dishwasher and it immediately pumped the water out as you said. I did a second time on another setting but this time after I put water in the tub I could hear water leaking. The culprit was a split flex line toward the left back of the unit. It must have just started leaking because ther is no evidance of any water leaking under the dishwasher and I did not notice any in the traywhen I checked the water valve. Any way I replaced the flex line and plugged the dishwasher back in and this time it did not pump out.....it immediately went into a wash cycle (and never pumped out). After reading your message I looked for the float switch which is on the left side under the tub. I see it has a red vertical shaft that has a curved horizontal arm at the bottom that goes to circular disk. I reached in with a pencil and lifted the horizontal arm up and the dishwasher pumped out the water. Does that mean the switch is bad? Is there a test I can do? Also the switch looks like it is in a very tight spot (part of it goes between the tub and the side panel)....any tricks to getting it out?

To access the switch you have to remove the dishwasher from the cabinet and remove the left side panel. Here are the break down diagrams for the Bosch dishwasher Model SHU9915 UC/12 (FD 8003-)Gene.
