I have a whirlpool imperial series for a while it has made a grinding noise when washing. Now it fills with water then dose nothing but hum, but it will still drain. Any thoughts?

You will have to open up the pump and see what has happened.
Could be that something has jammed in the impeller but mat also be that the pump is toast.
