I have two problems with this appliance:

1. When I close the door and latch on the bottom oven and press the "CLEAN" switch, the message indicates the door is open. I suppose I could replace the "SWITCH" part or the "LATCH - DOOR" part. Any suggestions on how to decide?

2. The control panel seems to have a few crossed wires in terms of the instructions I give it versus the actions it tries to take. For example, asking for 450 degrees results in getting 420 degrees. Also, pressing "UPPER OVEN - BAKE" results in 160 degrees, the expected result from pressing "TEMP PROBE." Also, pressing "KITCHEN TIMER - SET" produces the result you would expect from pressing "CLOCK SET." My choice seems to be between replacing the Microcomputer or the Membrane Switch. Any suggestions on how to decide?

I have a rudimentary VOM that I can use for thngs like testing for continuity. In particular, the Membrane Switch is connected to the Microcomputer by a flexible flat cable. The Membrane Switch has 32 buttons and the flexible flat cable has 17 "pins," two of which form a visible loop and apparently do nothing. Is there a simple coding scheme that I could use to test the Membrane Switch? For example, pressing the "UPPER OVEN - BAKE" closes a circuit on pins 1 and 2 so I could test for continuity on pins 1 and 2 when I depress "UPPER OVEN - BAKE."
