My fridge/freezer is constantly running -- not always - but a lot. It will come on, shut off and then turn right back on again. I have vacuumed the back and underneath the fridge but that didn't help. Any suggestions?

Measure the temperature at the back wall of the freezer and post.

I don't have a thermometer. I will try to get one and see what it reads. Both fridge and freezer are set at "5". Thank you.

That temperature is a bit marginal. Remove freezer back panel and check frost pattern. Is it heavily coated with frost over the entire evaporator area. Post results.

I checked it this morning and it showed that it was about 2 below... I'm not at home right now -- but are you talking about the back of the freezer in the back of the appliance or does the back wall of freezer come off from the inside? Thanks.

There must be a panel in the back wall of the freezer. Remove it and check the frost pattern.
