i took the back off the freezer and tried to dethaw every thing used hot water to drip inside the plug and only seem to get about an inch down and still not draining...any suggestions

Check under the unit at the drip tray to ensure dust etc. has not blocked it at that end.

If you have a compressor try blowing it clear. Lower the pressure on the compressor.
Try a straw or a piece of tubing and blow into it to clear the clog.
Try a turkey baster with some warm water in it to blow it clear.
Try a semi stiff piece of wire. I am not a big fan of this method as I worry about putting a hole in the tubing but sometimes nothing else works.

The turkey baster also comes in handy once you get it clear. Use it to flush the tubing with a 10% bleach solution. This will kill the crud that grows in the tubing. Flush the tubing with it, let it sit for half an hour or so and then do it again. Just watch the level in the drip tray so it does not overflow.
