Washer been very loud lately and now won't drain. Looked for drain plug or filter area at bottom of washer but don't see a plate. I suspect it might be the pump, but dont't know if a pump would make this much racket. Help please?

If something is in the pump it can make a heck of a noise or you could have two separate issues.

Check for a clogged pump first.

Remove all the water and take the hoses off the pump. Be prepared for water because you can’t remove all the water from the tub.

Then check inside the pump for anything that will block water or the pump.

Thanks for your reply. Took front off the washer and removed pump. Nothing clogged in pump except for some lint around impeller. Seems to be okay, but ordered a new one (48.00) after going to all the trouble. Keep looking around for a belt, but this type doesn't seem to have one. Is there anything else I should be looking for?

The washer has a belt but it doesn’t have anything to do with pumping the water out. I hope the pump gets you back going!
