wife was cleaning the oven floor .....lifted element.....when done.....the clock has an 8 in the display......cant set clock or anything.......stove top works......no oven.....two buttons r lit.....broil and timer set on off ......please help

Try to turn the circuit breakers off for a few minutes.

Hi David, Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you as well! Sounds like when your wife lifted up the heating element it caused a short (maybe crossed wires on the back?) and damaged the control board. According to the Wiring diagram, there are no any safety devices to preven such damage, but there is major safety rule - Power off any electrical appliance prior to work with it. You may want to pull the range out of the wall, remove the rear cover, check all wires and replace the control board (aka a clock). This part is on nationwide backorder. You can talk to the APP team to find ETA. - The control board Part number: AP3893113
