Hello -
I am new to this whole thing, so I apologize for rambling or using incoherent vocabulary.
I bought my Samsung washer/dryer duo a little over a year ago and have been extremely happy with them (especially since I have two dogs, a cat, and foster dogs who filter in and out as needed). Last month I saw a new product from Febreeze that promised to take out unpleasant odors (such as pet smells) from laundry. Claiming to be "professional strength" worried me slightly, so I checked its compatibility with HE washers before purchasing it. Even with the HE safe label, I only used a small amount because I know how far a little goes. I do all of my laundry on one day, so at the end, I was surprised to see water dripping from my washer and puddled at the base. I then noticed the gasket in my front loader had a tear where all of the water collects. Before purchasing the Febreeze, there were no issues with my washer nor had I ever noticed a tear in the front. I then started thinking about how it claimed to be "professional strength" and that maybe it was too strong. I called Samsung to ask if anyone else had complained (apparently not) and then transferred me to their service department. I was told it would cost at least $50 for a repairman to come to my house, not to mention additional charges for parts and labor. I eventually just ordered a new gasket and figured I would try to install it on my own. The gasket was a little over $50 and installation is impossible for someone like myself! I have the front door off and screws on my laundry room floor. If anyone can help me find directions for installing a gasket, please let me know.
I apologize again for the lengthy information, but I don't want someone else to make the same mistake I did! Don't buy the Febreeze Professional Strength Odor Eliminator!
Also, I called Febreeze to see if they could help me and they took my name, address, and complaint. They said I would receive a form to fill out within two months. I wonder what I shall do in the mean time?

Well, sorry that happened. Installing boot gaskets on a front loader is a very difficult job, even for professionals.

I would try to get someone to help me, and here is a service manual for the model like yours sold under the Maytag brand which may help a little.

Thank you very much for your help. I should never have tried to do this myself! I will be calling someone tomorrow because I cannot handle this alone.
I appreciate your advise, though.
Take care.

Quote from manual:

If you want to use drum cleansing agent, use only 1/10 of the amount of the drum cleansing agent recommended by the cleansing agent manufacturer. (When using a powder-type cleansing agent , remove the liquid detergent compartment.)
