My dishwasher only fills on the first cycle. I purchased and installed a replacement time only to find out the problem was not fixed.

Additional informaiton: The dishwasher will only fill if it has been idel for a period of time. If we try to run it immediately after running a cycle (after pressing cancel) it will not fill. If we wait several hours we can start it up and it will fill, but again, only on the first cycle.

Could it be heat/moisture related?
I'm assuming the valve/solenoid is operating properly.

Tough Question - Huh?

KitchenAid - KUDs220t0 SN 91732976 (installed 1990)

Thanks -

Pete,

Make sure the float (#15 on the diagram) is moving freely up and down. Remove the toe panel. Check the float switch (#11) and make sure it's engaged properly by the float stem.

If there is nothing wrong, replace the water inlet valve.
