My dryer just stopped drying clothes. I am thinking it is the element but need a schematic and any other advice available!

Here is the tech sheet http://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%208545908.pdfCould be the heater, thermal fuse. hi-limit thermostat, heater relay control board or motor's centrifugal switch. First thing to do is flip your breaker off/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker. If this does nothing check the power at the plug, L1 to L2 should be 240 volts L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts. If OK Unplug the unit and check the wires at the unit's terminal strip If OK Measure the voltage at the terminal strip If OK Unplug the unit and check the heating coil and the fuse/thermostats If OK Swap the motor relay for the heater relay if the unit now will not start you know that the relay is toast. |
