My dryer was purchased in May 2004. I have noticed in the past week or so that on the energy efficient cycle runs too long. Last night it ran for 3 hours before I caught it and stopped the dryer! The dryer gets hot and dries clothes (using timed cycle right now:confused: ). The knob does not move through the cycle on energy efficient indicating where it is in the cycle.

I just checked a load of clothes after an 80 minute cycle. They are still damp, maybe halfway dry. I do have heat. Perhaps just not enough. Also maybe this has nothing to do with it, but I can smell gas at times if I stop and open the door halfway through a cycle.
