I noticed my dishwasher was running for a long time. I turned it on at 6PM and it was still running at 5AM!!

Cannot find any info onthe unit, the model numbers seems to be short several digits.

If it is a mechanical timer could the timer is shot and not advancing.

If it is an electronic timer could also be the timer is shot but may be something like the heater is not turning on. Many units require a certain water temperature before advancing, though most of them will advance after a set time of give an error code. Also some units have dirt sensors that can mess up and the unit will keep filling/washing to try and get clean water.
