Skid plates went bad, replaced and wanted to change belt also but having a problem not understanding why there isn't enough tension on belt/drum? I've look for a spring mechanizm, but no luck on that and when I took it apart I started on the top-side and never once gave it a thought to look underneath everything to actually check the tension stamatic. Can someone please advise me if there is any spring, which I have tripled check, nothing. It's a very easy design but don't want to put it all back together with out any tension for sure on the belt and then have to tear into it all again. Hi Stits, The belt tension provided by the idler pulley (#216 on the break down diagram). You can find a schematic of the belt goes around the idler pulley and the motor pulley attached to the thread. Here are the break down diagrams for the GE dryer with the model number similar to yours Model DBXR463EB0CCGene. Gene attached the following image(s):
