My mom has a kitchen aid dual oven that won't turn on after power outage. The top oven was cleaning when she lost power. I checked and the oven has power, but the panel and bottom oven light don't turn on. The top oven is still locked because it was in clean mode. My hope is that releasing the top oven door will trigger something turns the oven back on, but my gut tells me that the electronics are fried. If anyone has any feedback or direction on how to open the top oven or a possible easy fix, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Most likely the problem is a blown control panel thermal fuse, as well as a blown oven shut down fuse. This is very common problem and you can find more information in one of our previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros...ba-double-oven-help.html

If you need the correct part numbers, post the complete model number of the oven.

Gene,
Thanks for the reponse on this. For some reason the email notification was sitting in my junk folder. A fuse was blown, but I'm not sure which. The local repair guy was able to come over that afternoon, so she lucked out.

Thanks again for the response.
