Good morning,

I am hoping someone here may have a solution to my problem as we are frustrated!

We have a Maytag Quiet Series 200 dishwasher which completely stopped working last night. We have 2 kitchens - 1 upstairs and one downstairs and the dishwasher is located downstairs. My husband put some dishes in the dishwasher downstairs and then washed others in the sink upstairs. I guess we had a clog in our sink downstairs because after he drained the water in the upstairs sink, he came downstairs and the sink down there had completely overflowed and the dishwasher had no power-was completely dead.

He tried the circuit breaker-it's fine. We cleaned up the mess and went to bed. This morning, the dishwasher has power, but none of the buttons work. All of the lights come on in order from the ends to the middle of the panel and when they are all lit, they all go off again and it starts over. It just keeps doing that flashing thing and I can't get any response from any of the buttons. For example, the heavy wash & extra rinse lights come on, then they stay on while the normal wash & tough scrub lights come on. Then all 4 of those lights stay on while the light wash & santize lights come on, and so on until every light is lit up on the control board. Then they all go out and the process starts all over again.

Anyone have any ideas?????? We're trying to decide if we should just get a new one or if this is fixable.

Thanks!!
:D

Could find no info on a 660 but did find info on a 6600 so I am assuming the 660 is a typo.

Here are your parts

Sounds like water has gotten into the control area.
Hope fully trying to run it has not blown the control board.
Remove the door's inner panel.
Remove the plugs and ribbon cable from the control board.
Leave the door open and let it dry out for at least 24 hours.
Would not hurt to warm up the control board and connectors with a hair dryer a few times letting it cool down inbetween.
Then do the following cleaning procedure.

Connector Cleaning / Checking
Unplug the unit
Open it up
Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board.
Clean the edge connector.
If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive.
Would not hurt to clean the connectors on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates.
Reconnect everything and give it a try.

Thank you! We will try that.

Yes, it was a typo, it is supposed to be a 6600.

Thanks for the reply!!!

:) Good Answer. I have the same dishwasher which had the exact same problem. Another alternative, if you have the time is to let it dry out by itself. Let it sit for about a week, then try it. Worked for me because I procrastinated about trying to fix it. Would suggest that you still take it apart and clean up the connectors and anything else where it looks like water had been.
In my case, my kitchen sink overflowed, and water seeped into the control panel from the counter top. Regards, Ron.
