I'm new and I hope I'm not doing anything wrong here. I found a post similar to my question but I didn't know if I was to intrude on that or start my own. I should read up but lacking time.

I'm frustrated because I love this old used washer I bought a few years ago. I should probably get a new (used) one, but I don't have a truck or way to move it...so I'm desperate. Please help if you can.

Now it's not doing anything when I turn it on, except when I do turn it on, the timer ticks away all the way to off. It was filling up, washing, then it would hit a dead spot till it got up to spin, then it would start working again. Then it got crazy, and would do the same thing only it could be in any cycle. But it always ticks away perfectly. I was having to turn it off, then manually keep trying to find a spot that when I pulled the knob back on it would work.

Thank you so much for your help! I went ahead and made a appt. Monday morning for the Maytag repair guy to come out and look at it.

I had almost decided to buy this new (old) set from CL, it was actually older I think then the one I have, it was a model #la512. The repair guy said mine was 12-13 y/o and the la512 was probably 10 years older. He said mine was one of the best machines Maytag makes. I hope he wasn't just trying to get the job.
