I have a Frigidaire 4000 Series Aqua Surge dishwasher. The water won't drain completely upon completion of the cycle -- I lift up the filter and there's 1+ inch of water left in the bottom. As a result, there's a rancid smell from the standing water. I had a repairman come and look at it and he said that the dishwasher was installed correctly, operates correctly, and that there's nothing that can be done. He said it's designed that way. I've had several dishwashers before and this never happened. Any suggestions other than purchasing a new dishwasher?

Here are your parts
Motor & pump replacement parts for FRIGIDAIRE PLD4375RFC0 Frigidaire/dishwasher | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is a service manual
http://frigidaireservicetips.com/pdfs/463_9.pdf

Here is the install sheet
http://manuals.frigidaire.com/p...df/Kinston/154427301.pdf

Make sure the drain is looped up as in the install sheet.
Since the water is skunky it may be that it is being siphoned back into the unit from the drain.
Check that the drain is clean.
If OK
Remove and inspect the drain pump especially the flapper valve if it has one.
