I have a smaller 4.4 cu.ft. Fridgidaire refrigerator/frost free freezer that has stopped working. It has power, but does not start up.

I'm not sure if unplugging and plugging it back in works, but it starts after awhile when I do that. It will work for a few days, but then the same thing happens. It is a little over a year old. Is this easy or cost effective to fix?

Could not find any info on this unit.

Perhaps the following will help you troubleshoot.

Is probably one of 3 things.
1. The start relay and/or overload on the compressor are not working correctly
2. The compressor is toast
3. The thermostat is sticking open. Next time it happens just turn the thermostat all the way from one end to the other but not to the off position if it has one.
Then set it at cold if the compressor comes on this is the likely culprit.

Is this easy
Cannot say what is easy for you may be difficult for me.

or cost effective to fix?
Depends what is blown, what the cost of that part is and what a replacement unit costs.
If you have to call a service person it will probably set you back $100.00 without any parts.

Thanks for the reply! I'll check out what you mentioned and hopefully I can get it fixed without spending a lot.
