Recently my refrigerator and freezer temperature began to drop. Called appliance service, they replaced "JA22 board" (cooling board). Nothing happened. Called again,I was informed that it took 24-48 hours to begin cooling During a short vacation I took, neither door was opened. When I returned, refrigerator and freezer were a little cooler but ice tray and loaf of bread,I purposely placed within freezer section, did not freeze. Might also add, the compressor on this machine had to be replaced within the first year. Where do I go next? Johno:confused:

A Model Number might help.
Check to see if the compressor is running. Should be warm and you should be able to feel it vibrating. If yes Remove the cover from the evaporator coils so you can inspect them. Check that the evaporator fan is running. Be sure the unit has been running a couple hours before doing this. In other words do not do it just after a defrost cycle. If they are clogged solid with ice and frost you have defrost problem. If they only have frost in one area, usually where the freon enters the coils you are low on freon and have a leak somewhere. If no hint of frost or cooling you are either out of freon or the compressor is toast (again) |

Denman Thank you for your quick response! Checked compressor it was warm and running. evaporator fan running. Evaporator coils clear but ice was solid down alongside coils. Maybe low freon problem? One other sympton, lower 20-25% of freezer is freezing, I put a plastic ice tray in bottom and it froze solid.. Upper three quarters not freezing at all. Thanks again. Johno15
