I have a GE Spacesaver, over-the-counter microwave, and tonight when I went to use it, I was able to enter in the cook time, but when I pressed start, it counted down, but nothing else happened.
Other details:
- Keypad works and accepts entry - Clock works - When the start button is pushed, I hear a click (as if a solenoid or relay is activating), clock begins countdown, but nothing else happens - light does not come on, no other sound.
Note: As I was writing this, I went to check again to document exactly what it was doing and it is working again - something isn't right.
Could this be a faulty door switch?
Thanks,
radioactive1

Most probably one or more of the following are not functioning:
1)Door switches 2)High voltage diode 3)High voltage capacitor 4)Magnetron
You need to check amperage to magnetron withi multimeter. If it's less then 14 Amp then it's most probably the magnetron. If more then 14 Amp then it could be high voltage capacitor and diode. If amperage is ok then door switches would need to be replaced first, but it still could be some other problem.
Hope this helps, Dmitriy
