Our Jenn-Air JED8345ADB Downdraft Cooktop w/ 3 Burner Bays outfitted with 2 radiant glass smooth units having 2 burners each, and 1 grill metal element unit, suddenly and without warning of any kind, simply stopped working. None of the burners light-up nor does the heating element for the grill; however, the indicators all turn on when the switches are turned on; also, the fan blower works as it should.
Power meter shows 178 +/- 5 volts at the ceramic connectors for the heating element units.
I've checked the circuitry schematic diagram provided with the unit and have also opened the unit up, removing the top and the electrical box front, thereby exposing the bays and electrical wiring. There is no evidence of burned wiring, nor of any of the switches looking like they've shorted out or anything like that. The circuit diagram shows that the unit consists of wiring, the six switches, three indicator lamps, the 3 burner bay electric pods, the relay for the fan blower, and the fan blower motor. There is no control module nor any other type of relay or device that controls the burner bays other than the six switches. It simply does not seem possible that all six switches would burn out at exactly the same time. Is there something that I'm missing, some central control or relay where the power must go through before it goes to the burners? The fan relay appears to be non-essential for the burners themselves; moreover, when you turn on the switch for the grill, the fan blower turns on like it should. Thus, the relay is working properly and is getting juice when the switch is turned on, trigging the relay to turn the fan on. Also, there's power for the fan, since the fan works properly, both speeds.
Could all three heating units have gone bad simultaneously? Two ceramic, radiant heat glass tops and one grill heating element?
Can you tell me what's wrong with this unit?
Thanks.
P.S.: Your immediate reply would be appreciated. I ordered a service manual and an assortment of parts today from your company. Order #908804. I MUST get this unit working by next Wednesday for the Thanksgiving Holiday, else, my wife's holiday plans will be ruined.

This just happened to my JennAir stove top. Same model. A little sad to see that this thread was originaly made in 2009 and no one has replied?
Hopefuly the OP figured out and will get a message that someone posted and reply with a fix.
Anyone else know what the problem is? Why did no one reply to this thread?
