dryer has a start switch that turns like key starter in a car about a quarter of a turn. it wont start the drum but makes a noise like it is trying to do that. I can hand turn the drum so it isnt frozen. I looked through frequently asked questions and find no solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Open the door and hold down the door switch and hold the start switch down and turn the drum manually all at the same time and see if that gets it going. if so then the motor is going bad

Qtip thanks for helping but i have to ask another question. i did all three, held the door switch in, turned the drum, and turned on starter motor switch. I got nothing, none of the motor sounding like it was trying to start the drum. So i went back and closed the door and came up with the original problem of what sounds like the motor turning but no action from the drum.
