Ice maker makes ice... won't dispense ice. No noise or activity when the switch to dispense is pressed.
About a year ago, my 2 year old son left the freezer door open. We left the house, then returned to a water puddle on the floor; the ice in the bucket had melted and run down to the floor. I'm assuming it ran through the ice chute, but may have made its way out through another path.
Perhaps a month later, I replaced the ice maker assembly. The "teeth" had frozen into the ice cubes, when the ice maker tried to cycle, it broke the shaft that drives the mechanism. Coincidence, or related to the current dispenser problem, I don't know.
I've disassembled the dispensing mechanism (the vertical shaft in the door, removed the motor, etc.). There wasn't any evidence of water having drained along this path in the "ice melting" incident. My thought is to test the motor, but I haven't been able to find a diagram to describe the pins.
I'm at a little bit of a loss on how to begin to solve this problem. Anyone have any advice?

Perform the troubleshooting as described in the Service manual and post the results. If you need the correct part numbers, post the end of the model number. Gene.

Thanks, Gene...
I'm not sure how I missed finding that manual, but it's very helpful. I'll perform the troubleshooting this afternoon.

Thanks again for the info, Gene. My icemaker is now dispensing ice!
I'm not quite sure what I did, but it's working. I disassembled the mechanism (motor, drive, coupling, etc) Friday, it sat on the counter until Sunday, when I re-assembled it. Somehow, in the process of taking it all apart and getting it all back together, with a few days to sit and thaw, it started working.
One small problem, I'm short 2 screws; one (of the four) that mounts the motor and another that fastens the cover/plate. I've looked for the parts here, but they sell for $4 each, which is ridiculous. I see that one is an 8 x 1/2", but I can't find any info on the coarse-threaded one. Any ideas on where I can get those parts without the ridiculous markup?

Besides the side, which is pretty common, such screws could have very special heads. In such situation you have to buy original screws.
