The gas oven and broiler decided not to work the other night so I took a look inside and found that the oven ignitor glows bright almost white when selected but the ignitor for the broiler does not glow at all. Will a bad broiler ignitor cause the safety valve for both the oven and broiler to become inoperative ?

Thanks

The broiler igniter can not damage the safety valve.

The first thing I would check is the gas shut off valve (#23 on the gas supply break down diagram).

Then I would check amps drawn in the bake igniter circuit. If it's less than 3.2 amps - the igniter is bad and has to be replaced.

Check the broil igniter for continuity and replace it if it's open.

- The part number for the broil igniter is AP2934763

- The part number for the bake igniter is AP172397

Both igniters are coming without brackets. You have to use the old bracket for the broil igniter. For the bake igniter you can use the old bracket or you can buy the new one.

- The part number for the bake igniter bracket is AP174418

Here are the break down diagrams for the Amana range Model ARG7302WW
