Our dishwasher has a steel tub which is painted with a white coating. Rust has appeared in several places and I want to repaint the interior. What type of coating material should I use for food safety and durability? If epoxy is recommended should I use a barrier coat over the original paint to prevent softening it, assuming it is not epoxy?

Thanks,

John
