I have a GE GTS18FBRERWW that stopped cooling, both the refer and freezer. The compressor does not seem to be running. There is a clicking noise coming from the temp control section. I read about GE motherboard problems online, so called GE to see if mine was under recall. She said my model does not have a motherboard.

Your Defrost Control Or Temp Control. With Ge The Temp Controls Go Bad. Check Under Your Defrost Control There Is A Hole. Put A Flat Head Skew Driver And Turn The Timer You Shoud Hear A Click. Then One More Click. If You Advane And Your Refg Does Not Come On, THEN Change Your Temp Control. YOU CAN Drop The The Control Box Pull the TWO Wires From The Temp Control And Jump The Two Wires If Your Refg Comes On Replaced The Temp Control.

I did what you said to advance the defrost timer, and the frig came on. Does the defrost timer get stuck? Or should I automatically replace it and leave the temp controller alone since the defrost timer seems to be the culprit?
Thank you!
