After changing the drive coupling, I have blown 2 capacitors. I can't figure out why. Machine agitates and spins fine. The capacitor starts to smoke and blows.
Can anyone help?

Could be the centrifugal switch is not opening.
May also be a bad start winding.

I can here motor humming also. Does that make any difference? Also, the 1st capacitor actually blew up. The 2nd one only kinda whistled and I cut power. Is the 2nd capacitor shot now?

If it is humming it is trying to start but cannot could be the start winding is shorted to the frame or another winding.

Probably
