My Kenmore front load washer makes a loud banging sound when it spins clockwise. It does not make the sound when spinning counter-clockwise. I allowed it to spin while i had the top and front, bottom covers off and could not see anyting that looked loose or disconnected. What can possibly be wrong with this machine, my second Kenmore appliance to crap out on me lately.

You could have a busted spider basket support inside the tub. Eventually, it will punch a hole in the tub. This usually makes a dull thud noise. I would pull the pump hose going to the tub and check for a bra wire.
