I have a Sears Kenmore/Whirlpool "70 Series" clothes washer and can't figure out the vibration during the spin cycle that makes it vibrate and walk around. We have had the machine over a year and had no vibration problem until the last few weeks. I have the Sears washer repair manual and am handy. It is not a load balance issue, and occurs even after I rebalance the loads carefully. I have taken the washer apart according to the manual (tub agitator, basket, springs), and replaced the 3 base pads. I checked the suspension plate pads, which are in good condition, taken off and reattached the 3 suspension springs and brackets and counterweight spring. All of the springs and brackets look fine, were attached and seem to be strong. The tub support, suspension plate and base seem to be aligned as the manual shows it should be.
But i still can't find the cause of the excessive vibration. Any ideas???
At the top of the basket there is a ring that sloshes and is partially filled with water. Is it possible for that ring to lose water and be the culprit?

Did you level the washer? Improper level could cause excessive vibration. You can find the leveling instructions in the service manual (page 4). Gene.
