I called Whirlpool and they told me to change the complete soap dispenser to the tune of $50.00. I did and it still does the same thing. It starts filling with water and I think when the soap dispenser would be due to open, it starts this chattering noise. I have had to disconnect the dispenser and leave the soap door open and I can wash that way but all the soap goes out on the first wash and the second is really a rinse. I called a technicial to come to the tune of $55.00, he called Whirlpool as he is a whirlpool dealer and they asked him what he thought, he said he thought it was the control panel at possible $150 to $200 and I could not hear their side of the conversation as it was on the phone but he said they agreed. Well is that just another guess???? \ Has anyone had this problem, I read somewhere it might be a timer problem to telling the door to open????? I am writting this but my husband is actually doing the work and trying to make heads and tails out of this. If I have to purchase another dishwasher after 4 years, I can assure you'll it won't be a Whirlpool/Kenmore. Someone please help me. Alice

Here are your parts Replacement parts for DU1145 models | AppliancePartsPros.comYour Model Number is short a few digits so I cannot get you the tech sheet. Yes I can see it being the control board Item 11 Section 1. The solenoid for the soap dispenser is controlled by a triac. These can fail so that you only get about half the required voltage out of them and this could cause the solenoid to chatter. |

The key by the z on my computer keyboard does not work so I will put a = the number is DU1145=TPB6. I read on the forum that someone had changed the control and it had not corrected the problem. I would be out another $220.00. I read somewhere that it was a timer problem, but my husband looked at the diagram you get with the dishwasher and he says he doesn't see a tiimer. It says sometimes it is in the door and sometimes in the kickplate. Are you familiar with timer problems. Can you understand my delimina, I hate to spend ANOTHER $220.00 and it not solve my problem. Thanks for your prompt reply, Alice Would you email my email account with a reply or copy it as I might not find this site again, I am not a user and don't know how I even got here. My email is gnaleblanc@hotmail.com.

Here are your parts er the missing digit being an X Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL DU1145XTPB6 | AppliancePartsPros.comHere is the tech sheet http://www.servicematters.com/d...0Sheet%20-%208535451.pdfYou do not have a mechanical timer you have an electronic control board (Item 11 in Section 1). You could check the dispenser solenoid for resistance see the tech sheet. Also could check that it is getting the full 120 volts when it should but this is fairly complex to do. To check it mechanically you should be able to remove the doors inner panel, shut the dispenser door then manually push the solenoid plunger to see it the door opens without binding. |
