Top load washer not spinning, and it is making a terrible noise like it is under a lot of pressure. This appears to only be happening on the spin cycle. It fills fine and drains but does not spin, any suggestions. Not helpless but in need :)

If the motor runs during spin, you either have something stuck in the tub, or dragging brake shoes and a slipping clutch. You can shine a light in the tub and look for something stuck there, or do the tranny coupler test in my "sticky" "replacing direct drive brake shoes".
