So we recently moved and our Ge side-by-side fridge must not have liked it. After plugging it back in the whole thing froze up, so I defrosted it for 48 hours and let it settle. Then plugged it back it.
It has been ok for the past 1.5 weeks, but now the fridge is up to around 45 deg and the freezer is at 19 deg.
What should the temps be?
What could the problem be? The settings are set to default of 5 (mid-range), before defrosting the thing it had lots of frost in the freezer side.
For now I guess the freezer is ok 19 deg is still frozen. But the Fridge is getting a little warm.
Ideas?

How the fan in the freezer works?
Remove the rear panel in the freezer and check how the evaporator is covered with snow.

The fan was not covered with snow. The only thing that was icy was the coils. The fans appear to blow fine, or at least I can hear them run.
The "door" between the freezer and fridge seems to open correctly.
The back panel of the feezer was covered with frost as well.
The measurements before I unplugged it, the fridge was up to 50 deg (40 earlier in the day), and the freezer was around 17 deg (15 earlier in the day).
I measured an open circuit between the two ends of the defrost heater and thermostat.

Yes, I just replaced the defrost heater kit. When I got it out, the glass tube was black and burnt. I didn't replace the thermostat yet, hopefully it was just the heater.
Thanks for the help.

Ok, so now the fridge is running too long and the freezer is at -8 and fridge at 34.
Any ideas why it would be running such long cycles and keeping it so cold?
Is there a thermostat in both sides? Motherboard? This is getting almost too expensive to bother fixing it.

You probably have to adjust the temperature controls as described in the Owners manual. Keep in mind that you have to wait about 24 hours after any adjustment to see a result. Gene.
