Dryer won't heat. Element has resistance, therefore it should be good. Checked continuity of thermal cut-off and high limit thermostat. One has continuity, the other DOES NOT. I assume BOTH should continuity in order to energize the element. Is my assumption correct?
Thanks Bob

Be sure to clean/check the vent system and the blower wheel if the thermal fuse is the one that is blown.
Also on many units the thermal fuse comes with a hi-limit. The thinking here is the hi-limit should have regulated the temperature to a point below where the fuse blows so both must be bad. |
