My Maytag dryer recently started smelling of natural gas during a drying cycle. Here are the facts. Only smells of gas while running, only smells of gas when trying to dry a wet load, does not dry the load when gas smell is present. Took off front of dryer, watched the coil flow, the gas fire and everything the process cycle repeat. Cannot determine if this is the same problem others are having with their gas valve coils, nobody has said anything about a gas smell. Please help.

The first thing I would do is call the local Gas company to check the dryer and to pinpoint the gas leak (if any).

Post the results.

Gene.
