There is an intermittent leak on the right side of the door under the unit. I installed a foam strip on top of the existing door gasket and the leak apparently stopped. Then, I purchased a new door gasket and the leak started again. I next tried to insert the foam strip behind the gasket and it still leaks. The leak occurs at the second wash cycle (only slow dripping during the first wash). T^he leak seems to "splash" leading me to think that the lower wash arm has something to do with it. I removed the two bottom panels and note that the leak originates from the hinge area. I cannot see if there is a crack in the tub but since it is an intermittent leak, probably not. All of the other functions of the washer work just fine. Any thoughts will be most helpful before I invest in a new dishwasher.:(

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL GU980SCGQ2 | AppliancePartsPros.comCheck the spray arm to be sure it does not have a crack. Also that all the holes are open. I find the easiest way to clean the holes is with a tweezers part way through a cycle when everything is wet. Sometimes the water can spray out at a weird angle and cause a leak. Clean the area in the tub just under the door sometimes crud can collect here and cause problems. Make sure the barrier Item 21 in Section 1 is OK Check the deflector Item 12 in Section 6 Check the float Item 32 Section 6, sometimes crud can collect here and cause a drip. Note this would be behind the kick plate. Check that the unit is installed level or slightly leaning to the back. I am assuming that the unit drains correctly and the unit is not overfilling. |
