We identified that the start relay switch needed replcing - it was making the whiney sound followed by a click so many have described and sure enough when we removed it something was rattling inside. So put new one on, but still doing same thing and still not cooling.
What now. How feasable is it that the new one is a dud? Should I have shaken it before installing?
Motor is running, fan going, lights in both sides are operating.
Help please!

It is unlikely the new relay is bad or faulty from the start. More than likely the compressor is bad. Refrigerator repair guide
