I realize that it may be easier to find a needle in a haystack but if anyone has any idea how I might find a control board (Part Name: Smart Board & Display) for the microwave portion of my 1990 GE Dualwave Cooking System part# WB27X5400 I would be grateful. I am handy with a soldering iron and may be able to repair my original board but the soldered LCD display is no longer working and there is no part# or other markings that would help me identify it in order to replace it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rusuba

Hi,

Original is NLA :(

Your old board may be rebuilt. Probably worth checking into.
A copy:

Appliance Timer Repair

Many washer, dryer, range and dishwasher mechanical timers can be rebuilt. Some electronic controls can be rebuilt as well. This is a good thing to know as some older timers may be no longer available or too expensive to purchase new. Some companies that offer this service are listed below, also check with local parts depot to see if they offer this service as well. The timer must be removed from the product ( mark down what wires go where! ) and the timer is sent away to the rebuilding shop and they repair your timer and send it back. This service can often easily take 7 to 10 days but may take up to 2 weeks.. The repair will come with a warranty just like a new part has.

Hi Jeff - the forum isn't forwarding replies and this is the first time I've accessed the site since posting.

I've seen several online references to the rebuild possibility. Though I'm hoping to find a replacement, working or not, the rebuild route may be a possibility. The fact that the board is cracked through several very small traces may make rebuilding quite a challenge. But finding out if rebuilding is possible is a parallel path I should already have started but will definitely pursue now.

Many thanks for the reply and suggestion, Jeff.

Some of these places may already have a rebuild board that they would sell you.....should be worth a few emails or phone calls.

Best of luck!
