My oven is old but have had no issues with it. Started using the self clean function and one day the oven just stopped heating altogether during Bake/broil. It just reads LO on the control panel. Initially, it was only producing heat in the self clean function while this problem was occurring and then that died as well giving me error code F5:E5.

I lifted the control panel face plate and tested the thermal fuse with the multimeter and it was open/no beeps. I ordered the piece on ebay. However, later on I tried the bake/broil functions again and in bake mode the orange light on the igniter goes on but no heat. On broil function the igniter also goes and there is some heat starting to cook up. This wasn’t the case when the problem started as nothing was giving heat except for self clean and that eventually fried too. Any idea why broil seems to be producing some heat and bake doesn’t?

Rattty, the thermal fuse WP9759944 not having continuity will stop voltage from being able to reach the bake igniter. However, since the bake igniter is glowing, this fuse would be good and the failure would be in the bake igniter WP9782065. The bake not working will stop the cleaning cycle from reaching proper temperature, resulting in the error F5 E5. If the oven was reaching the temperature necessary for the self clean feature and the cooling fan 9751020 (part has been discontinued) does not circulate the air, it can cause the thermostats to trip and prevent heating. The oven control WP9782435 (part has been discontinued) can also overheat, causing issues as well.
