I have an LG Frenchdoor fridge Model LFX25950SW. Recently I was having trouble opening the freezer drawer, it seemed to be hanging up on something on the bottom of the freezer cabinet. It turns out it was a sheet of ice. Water was dribbling down the back of the freezer cabinet, it looked like it was from the evaporator which normally drains into a pan underneath the cabinet. Under the freezer cabinet is a fan that blows air over the condenser coils and over the water collection pan where the water evaporates. I understand that there is a drain tube that directs the water from the evaporator down to the drain pan. The tube may be disconnected or more likely the drain pan may have a build-up of grunge which has plugged the lower end of the tube. Has anyone had a similar experience with similar LG French Door fridges? Thanks in advance

Hi, My LG knowledge is limited but yes the drain/drain hose could be restricted and the defrost water is leaking out into the freezer section. Probably a good idea to allow an 12-24 hour defrosting with the doors open and clean out the drain hose at the back bottom. Yours should be like this one here. I hope something here helps. jeff sr. |
