I have a Maytag Bravos MVWX655DW1. When we first moved in, we noticed the wash plate wasn't moving. It was just clicking, and the drum would move. (Inspector failed to realize this). Replaced the shift actuator, W10913953, and the wash plate worked as expected. This lead to another issue appearing that was sporadic and I never really looked into. Now 8 months later, the wash plate issue returned.

The issue that appeared after replacing the shift actuator, is at times during filling, the washer will make a clicking/grinding noise; almost like relay chattering. Follow this noise, the wash plate would spin super fast. This chattering noise doesn't happen every cycle. It also doesn't seem to occur at the same fill cycle, meaning it might happen during the first fill or a rinse.

Here is a video of the noise. The wash plate isn't visible, but you can hear the drive motor move very quickly and some water movement. https://youtube.com/shor...E84Y?si=rwX0zZJJCFq386Wn

What could be causing this clicking noise? It seems the noise is the cause for killing the shift actuator.

Nsar24, if the noise is occurring at the top in the console, the failure would be in the main control. https://www.appliancepar...w11116592-ap6261034.html
